The Local Trenton, New Jersey Area

There's plenty to do, see, and learn in Trenton, New Jersey.

Here's a short breakdown from Wikipedia:

Trenton is a city in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States that is the county seat of Mercer County and the capital of the State of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, Trenton had a population of 84,913, making it the state's 10th-largest municipality after having been the state's ninth-largest municipality in 2000. The population declined by 490 (-0.6%) from the 85,403 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 3,272 (-3.7%) from the 88,675 counted in the 1990 Census. The city is part of both the Greater New York City Combined Statistical Area and the Delaware Valley.

The first settlement which would become Trenton was established by Quakers in 1679, in the region then called the Falls of the Delaware, led by Mahlon Stacy from Handsworth, Sheffield, UK. Quakers were being persecuted in England at this time and North America provided the perfect opportunity to exercise their religious freedom.

Portions of Trenton are part of an Urban Enterprise Zone. In addition to other benefits to encourage employment within the Zone, shoppers can take advantage of a reduced 3.5% sales tax rate at eligible merchants (versus the 7% rate charged statewide)

The city of Trenton is home to numerous neighborhoods and sub-neighborhoods. The main neighborhoods are taken from the four cardinal directions (North, South, East, and West). Trenton was once home to large Italian, Hungarian, and Jewish communities, but since the 1960s demographic shifts have changed the city into a relatively segregated urban enclave of middle and lower income African Americans. Italians are scattered throughout the city, but a distinct Italian community is centered in the Chambersburg neighborhood, in South Trenton. This community has been in decline since the 1970s, largely due to economic and social shifts to the more prosperous, less crime-ridden suburbs surrounding the city. Today Chambersburg has a large Latino community. Many of the Latino immigrants are from Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua. There is also a significant and growing Asian community in the Chambersburg neighborhood primarily made up of Burmese and Bhutanese/Nepali refugees.

The city of Trenton is protected on a full-time basis by the city of Trenton Fire and Emergency Services Department (TFD), which has been a paid department since 1892 after having been originally established in 1747 as a volunteer fire department. The TFD operates out of seven fire stations and operates a fire apparatus fleet of 7 engines, 3 ladders, and one rescue.

"Ken offers his excellent service right to the door of your business office or home. He did an outstanding job fitting and measuring me, without cutting corners, for wonderful custom made suits I wear daily that were very reasonably priced.

"Most impressive though, is his outstanding follow-up and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Ken when you've decided to take your wardrobe and professional appearance to the next level."

"I had been working for months to find dress attire that would fit me properly, including another tailor I found online that had rave reviews. On the advice of a friend, I went to Ken.

"Ken came to my house, measured me up once, and the clothes fit perfectly the first time - not even a single adjustment needed. He has a wide selection of colors and fabrics at various price points and his attention to detail is impeccable. I'm very happy with my purchases so far and would highly recommend Ken to anyone looking to upgrade their wardrobe."

"I've been working with Ken for the last five years and believe his company offers the best value on the market today for quality, service and price. I've referred serveral of my friends and associates to Ken and everyone has been equally impressed with the quality of his suits and exceptional service.

"Ken takes the hassle out of buying. No more driving to the mall to try and find a suit. Ken does everything for me. Personally, I hate shopping so when Ken comes to my office it's a big relief. I need to look my best, but don't have the time or know how to do it right. I need to focus my energy on running my business and not waste my time driving all over the planet. Plus, his custom suits, custom shirts and ties are outstanding AND less expensive than what you'd typically pay for an 'off the rack' suit at Nordstrom or Saks.

"I would recommend Ken to anyone who values their time and wants to make a great first impression."
